A Power Greater Than Evil

Higher Power2

We run and we run.  A virus drops or a guy goes wild on the world stage with big explosions, and it’s tempting just to run, run, run.

What’s a virus next to balanced, thriving, healthy days of life?  What’s the virus against a well-oiled immune system, eating good foods, working, playing and loving in a vibrant proactive fashion?

What are Vladimir Putin’s bombs and aggression next to a mother’s love?

***

Let’s stop running and square up our problems like men and women.  If someone bombed my hometown I wouldn’t refugee away from the bombing, but march to the source and have a talk with some people.  Unarmed, Christian, loving, direct talk.

Of course evil exists.  It always has and always will.

What’s your response to it?  Run?

I say, let’s live toward our problems, not away from them.  Live with the Power that ignites us all!  Live toward our enemies and love them back to sanity!  Live so well that our blood will pump into every extremity with a beating heart that will never stop for a measly virus!!!

There is a Power greater than evil, so align with it.  Never cower to the bully!  Love him.

Never cower from a virus.  Love today!

Freedom1

We smile heading up the hill—

Vex not!

Life is but a game of thrills—

Vex not!

Every ill and fear is false evidence
appearing real, go to the mountain
top and tell God how you feel—

Vex not!

For the grave, as Longfellow did say
is not life’s goal, ashes to ashes and
dust to dust cannot cloud nor dirty
the soul—

Vex not!

Climb up or down do work every
single day.

Work is force multiplied by distance,
don’t worry!

Physics and science meet with the
spirit too,

in a place both artists and scientists
equally call truth.

Call on major forces to align and
believe, honestly

it’s the youth we want in you, not
the jaded adult

so off we go another day today,
doing everything we can

to be as children to enter heaven,
quoting gospels,

Then native American chiefs are next,
wisdom flows like waterfalls, good
luck trying to catch one, like sand
through hands, each rock a boulder
of cells in the universe under a
microscope,

Searching we seek,
Finding we found,
Asking the key step
after admitting we
can never do it all
alone…

Vex not!

It’s not as late as you think…

Vex not!

Time is such a relative thing…

Peace is at the end if we live and
love now like a child.

Be about it, and I’ll be rooting
you on from the clouds…

Vex not!!!!!

Not on my watch.

Vex not!

How about a game of hopscotch?

Vex not, love today then strong
and sure, read Longfellow, with
a firm and ample base—now,
And ascending and secure, Henry
and Henrietta—

Shall tomorrow find its place;

Vex not, or do, it’s whatever makes
that smile in you, do nothing.
Do everything.  We have to give it
all away sometime, so why not
grow a tree!

Vex if you want to, go with the
flow of all you dream to, there’s
the cycle, once on we live forever,
a comfort to the vexing type,
Give up all to get everything
tonight.

Hurry1

We pave the roads, the
sidewalks, build ourselves
into buildings stories high;

We burn the earth at high
rates so that we can go fast,
be somewhere else at times.

We can overdo comfort,
end up running away from
Truth, that we came from

dirt, corn, the simple path,
stars above, appreciation
of our common bond with

animals, nature, all things…

We pave the roads, the
sidewalks, build ourselves
into buildings stories high;

We can run, but we cannot
hide… Sooner or later, we
fall down from the comfort.

No matter how tall we build,
nothing stands unless the
ground supports it, miles

of civilization is fine until
our lives are forfeit, driving
so fast and loud we forget

we are just another flower,
who needs the sunlight, the
water like all the others,

Time to reflect, time to rest,
time to be grateful for another
moment, never hurry, always

with higher powers ahead and
in front of us.  Shhh.  Be calm,
slow down, and turn our cars

and will into the garage of
mountain air and remembering
what it is to be a human being…

Health1

In the Mary Baker Eddy spirit,
rising in lines hopefully,
as an Ella Wheeler Wilcox sonnet:

I have overcome all illness,
God is here, and for you too—
We are all better, no complaints!

If we pause and doubt, cringe
and dip low in thoughts
We indeed worship Pain not joy,

We hoist “Cancer” up, some ailment
we raise until it becomes king.
Abolish that horrid monarch now;

Force abdication by your positivity;
the way you think is by God known,
So build today then, strong and sure

With Longfellow’s firm and ample base,
ponder not because you cannot
see Higher Power that it fails,

Or that some form of loving God
does not exist!  It’s in us, our healthy
loving thoughts!  So be with me

Pure in thought today, skip
rooms and offices to drop our
hundreds on white coats and insurance

gambles and gambits.  Walk the trail…

Believe.

My last Breath

Shall say I, Spirit! at the top of
my weak lungs, for I came, lived
and go, a spirit not a ghost—

After all, a spirit not a ghost.

Beatty’s Bullworth spoke to me,
depressed we get tired knowing
our best tries came up short.

Excelsior! said the hiker, hiking past
doubt until in the clouds he yelled
Excelsior! died breathing, spirit
yelling in his lungs.

Spirit! yell I, and with my last
breath I’ll comply, with whatever
it takes to inspire a final soul
before I return to that which
creates earth, land, sky and I

Returning we never die,
to earth, land, sky and I say:

Spirit!

And so never to die.

You know, for Kids:

“Smile Forever”

Things will happen,
good and bad times, but
the day is long enough for both.

I love the wind, change—
the softness of days free of
doubt or worry.

God is spoken of in church
and I see nature’s beautiful
sky and horizon,

I think we’re all here for
a pretty good reason.
Things come together,

Seem made for each other,
dreams and waking time
combine,

I’m so glad to have another
day to think and write
and draw and pray.

Somewhere others are sighing,
writing and reading,
reciting or singing

And I think I hear them,
because I’m smiling now
despite hard times;

My day is long I let in the
tough, it passes and like
waves returns to the sea.

Sometimes I could swear
God has made this world
just for me…

So I could smile forever
*********

“Just Today”

There are no others
Some dream of futures,
Daughters, sons, brothers—

That’s okay to dream
Keep it that and Never
Drift long in worry…

Pray it away, like the sun
That sets on a glorious Day!

Dream, Pray, Tell Worry
Of things to come to
go, like the sun, away

So the Stars can shine,

Clean the Sky, Get Ready….

Another Day.

********

“The Starfish of the Sea”

They call me… the Starfish of the Sea

Some days, Whole days I sit at the bottom
of the ocean.
I rise with the tide, I’m not sure—

It’s the Motion

I’d say I was tall… Wide
Something to describe what I
am inside without all the Emotion.

But I can’t; I guess I’m wishy-washy
full of wishes, dreams and horse pucky.

I’d sing a song if I had one
But instead wait to be fed by ocean’s bottom—
We’re not unlike the tide itself, up and
down MOTION—

Full of emotion. Starfish cry, too,
my tears like a bucket in drops of rain,
one two three;

Saltwater the answer to prayers,
Sayers saying too much until

Bright, enlightened by the Sun
and God they say something

RELATABLE

I’m a song in an ocean…
Not very dateable!

I’d love to cough and get your attention…

Can u really run from the tide,
the day on your beach I with you
awaken?

Smile… It’s a pretty picture (Snap!)

On your beach I’d love to teach
Even if dried out my heart Stops its beat,

I sing and brighten beaches all the same…

I shine eternally in Sunshine or Rain.

I’m the Starfish of the Sea;
They call me that ‘cause I’m pretty
and deep and not enough people
can see me.

I’m done with my song, now—I have to go back;
to the deep blue sea… see? It’s my
mom and dad they want to see me like
yours you…
IS THAT SO BAD?

Family are those who do the will of God.

Remember that.
********

“The Fruits of Hard Labor”

When the day is done
you like to look back and think you did
something, something good.

Whether for others, yourself, your
house, your mom, your dad?

I dusted, I shot a basket, we won
the game, we lost the game
but tried hard… and you
know what? We are improving…

I traded with my friend, I talked
with my friends about my
teacher at recess, I ate the
food my parents made for me,
I think my teacher is nice—

So far so good, maybe life
is just living the best day you can
live…. Believe and work hard,

Then when you look back you see
a building, not of bricks only
but of friendships and creativity.

Rock The Stars

The town tryer goes out, does his best,
taking advantage of every penny found
in cracks of couches.

Rock the stars.

Come in first, show what you can do,
or lose and come back next year fired up,
it’s up to you.

Rock the stars.

Make something out of nothing, your time
to shine is now. Give what you can it may
be enough, and as often discussed:

Enough is as good as a feast—

Rock the stars!!!
