Killing1

We brought the guns from
Europe to America, lorded
them over the native people,
were careful to hit when we shot,

Part of scaring the people
into submission and stealing land.

We needed guns, or so we thought,
crammed together in close
quarters—England, France, Germany
and others within stone’s throw.

We looked all around, and best
weapons of war seemed to win.

We brought the disease across
the sea, that with our bibles
to justify treatment and dismissal
of a people clearly not Christian.

The Virginia Charter of 1606 clear,
calling all in armor sent across for the

…propagating of Christian religion to
suche people as yet live in darkeness
and miserable ignorance of the true
knoweledge and worshippe of God…

The descendants of Chief Luther
Standing Bear of the Lakota Sioux
from Wakan Tanka, the Great spirit
living among the kinship “with all

creatures of the earth, sky and water…
all of one blood, made by the same hand,
and filled with the essence of the
Great Mystery… The Lakota never

enslaved an animal, and spared all life
that was not needed for food and clothing.”

No cursing, no swearing, no loud guns
until we came here pushing our loud,
violent way as better.

And we tout a military that kills,
police that learn to kill, shooting for
the torso on the firing range, selling
our soul so often over the years,

All normalized and baked in the cake,
America the Beautiful shot in the heart,
helicopters overhead “keeping the peace?”

Killing is not defense, nor can it ever be.

Killing is offense, weapons of war, instruments
of fear—“all creatures hate them,” says
Lao Tzu, but what can one do?  Jesus said
“Live by the sword, die by the sword,”

So we as humans get to choose.  But if
your goal is to stop an attacker,
do so moderately short of stopping
his or her heart—

and the reward will be peace, and
perhaps a converted bad actor
given a second chance to be what
Wakan Tanka wants us to be.

Joy, Law, Los Angeles, Love, Peace, USA

I have seen a few things, the
light bright from a Palm Desert
recovery facility.

Allow me to help you see!

Gangs are unnecessary.  To
have them in our city a choice.

They can be budgeted out, if
city leaders would reduce their
own inflated salaries, cut out
the fat of things we do not need.

Illegal fireworks, the booms, could
be budgeted out!

Litter picked up, law enforced,
pedestrian workers employed,
tents removed from sidewalks,
an encampment established
outside city limits with county help.

Sober up, L.A.!!

Really think, use the brain that
will say it’s dumb to drink
flammable liquids!!

Sober up, L.A.!!

Take off your ridiculous monkey
suits, city leaders, and join the
lowly, me and others to clean
this mess up for good!!

Sober up, L.A.!!

Be the first major U.S. city to
raise its standards to eliminate
even a single cigarette butt from
our sidewalk cracks.

Build better sidewalks, have non-
lethally armed security to secure
them, Engage the community!

Let’s be there, at our schools
with law instruction!

Let’s be at our recreation centers
and get to know our children!

Allow them to vote!!!

Anyone should be allowed, who
wants to help our country!

Perfectionism is a curse!

The old way needs changing, unless
you love the trash and bombs
on the fourth so much.

I do not.

I like peace, and obeying the law.

Take off your ties and suits, put
on some work clothes and join
me in a vision of something better.

Garner a day when police answer
the call, because
they are budgeted to win.

Stop the flow begun with self-
seeking campaigns, appeal to
God or Higher Power, take less,

and allow the city to thrive
the more.

It matters not the darkness
before dawn, the two at one
needing each other to be
a proper show.

It’s dry and hot, which could
never excite a soul until
the storm clouds roll in
to change forever the state

if forever is a moment, nothing
is—and truth alluding poets
but seeking always we put our
cup out to the sun, wait.

There it is, the first drop
dropping calmly, lightly with a
ting, then another, more here
and there and the humming bird

buzzes by like firefighters not
away from the event but toward
it, they fire, they rain, the bird
wants a bath so sits with the drops

closes its eyes in ecstasy, shudders,
shakes its feathers to complete
the bath before finding a branch under
cover to avoid a drenching.

Boom the thunder hits from a
far-off bolt, but this was not an
electric storm—more of a cleansing
wave, like the law man who finds

the perp burping in the sunshine,
smoking cigars, private jets, pinching
stewardess butts with a smile you’d
think only wine or money makes.

God, the view is good from up here
is a final thought as the plane goes
down, 10-20 years for money laundering
or some other hidden gem.

Wishing no harm on anyone,
unless the point of view of banks is
seen; then if you go there, you
know the people hurt when they

are robbed.  Dishonest is its own
crime, look at the board of ten
brought from God through Moses
upon the Jews, they’re good.

Cleansing is the rain; the storm
picking up, hitting the soil with what
it needs, the apple sprouting the bud
of weeds cramping gardener’s style,

so he gets online to buy more mulch,
poof, on its way, roses budding a creamy
winter of snow on the way against
this rare summer break!

Indictments are sure to come, just
as the mulch arrives, the weeds
relentless until we act, restore a level
of security and sanity to the hill.

Mueller uses not gas-powered crap
but hand to hand combat; God
is proud of earnest, humble work,
punishes the brash, but not before

they win some battles, look at the
South for five years keeping slaves
trapped, little skirmishes won and
lost, guerrilla fighting the tough

life of the rebel.  “We cannot change
the world, it cannot be done” echoes
on an Asian valley butterfly, flying
through the passage of time,

Wondering if mankind, women too,
could all get together, realize we’re
from the same general stuff, rain
water and sun, blood of Earth, the

swim of that stewardess, like a
caterpillar, becoming Flight Attendant
with a lawyer, smart on the game
so she could win, and the butt

pincher faces twenty to life now
for lying to the FBI about killing
Democracy.  The court almost laughed—
not down here, but on the planet

far off that runs us.  “Democracy!” they
laughed and almost fell off the
cliff of the universe, where they stand
and spy.  “People-rule!” gets them

busting up full, and they float down
to Earth through a black hole eating
underwear under there, causing
a great earthquake, followed by

a tsunami, the rains piling up,
a flood rising until Man once
again finds its wisest stance and
repeated mantra through captivity

toward eternal freedom from care:

“We are powerless,” smiled the
orange criminal.

And a lone flower burns on the
hillside of summer untouched,

Making ash for even democracy
to change, become wine from water
and confuse us back to powerlessness
over and over until Samuel gets

out of his cage-like grave, walks
up that dang hill, and makes an
unseen God king again; He’ll
have to do it tomorrow, too if

we wake, my friend—for whatever
progress we made today, it
will rain, and we will wonder if
before it does we laid down enough

seed, to feel the peace of mind
that turns words around, turns
our efforts on themselves, returning
us all to Tao Te Ching-like calm,

the uncarved block, the dawn,
our own birth.  Wordless

and Perfect.

is a myth.

We’re trying to group and organize
our thoughts and conditions,
what racists do to keep things easy.

Brand a group or situation “X.”

Mark the spot of a crime “Y.”

The devil loves conflation, combining
and confusing, hates when we make
decisions, loves when we lump and
generalize.

Declare something “Good” or “Evil?”

Judge not lest ye be judged was not
a religious statement, but true.

Ask not what your country can do
for you, but what you can do for
your country was not political but true.

It’s a tragedy when murder happens,
but does it help to label the evil with
further labels like “terrorism” or
“terrorist act?”

Evil is evil, wrong is wrong, and to go
further to categorize is to welcome
a slew of lies.

Muslims.  “Radical Islam” are terms
born from these lies, we start witch
hunts against a group instead of fighting
the evils inside your own heart.

Gandhi was right, in part, and at the
time of his murder was a great voice
for peace.  (why he was killed)

Did terrorism kill him?

Irrelevant, your honor, it was wrong,
unfortunate, and God shall punish
all such acts, where God could be:

Good
Orderly
Direction,

a Higher Power, or just good
common sense.

A good fence.  The neighborhood in
check, my mind and body in balance
because I prayed first,

then acted.

Or did nothing—the spiritual way
of the Tao.

Government Health Care is Unconstitutional

Native American Health3

-by Bill Watkins 7/29/2017

***

I am Christian Scientist regarding health.  A prayer healer.  And it works.  And it saves me money.  “Religion” plays into my definition of Health.  What about you?  If you would deny God, or a divine involvement in our health, could you at least concede that there are millions of Americans who associate religion and faith with healthy living?

Then government should not dip its hands in non-emergency healthcare.

From the First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…

From Google:

The First Amendment not only allows citizens the freedom to practice any religion of their choice, but also prevents the government from officially recognizing or favoring any religion.

Our national and congressional obsession with WESTERN MEDICINE’S VERSION OF HEALTH CARE is an overwhelming example of our government’s officially recognizing or favoring the religion some cling to of Western Science and “medical practice.”

I am against it.  I do not want it.  I do not believe in the White Coats; believe instead in prayer, meditation.  I will use a modern bandage, and keep wounds clean—common sense practice.

I will ice a swollen or sore muscle, harkening back to my college volleyball days and awareness of certain therapeutic techniques.

I do not need your western “health care.”  I do not want it.  And it is wrong to use public tax money to fund such a controversial and religion-related matter.

Let’s get back to Roads, Bridges, and National Security.  (Not covert aggression and missiles, but Defense.)

An LAPD Favorite

-by Bill Watkins 5/22/2017

Police Corruption

CPC 236:
False imprisonment is the unlawful violation of the personal liberty of another.

CPC 832.5 (a) (1) Each department or agency in this state that employs peace officers shall establish a procedure to investigate complaints by members of the public against the personnel of these departments or agencies, and shall make a written description of the procedure available to the public.

BPC 6068 Attorney Duties:
(a) To support the Constitution and laws of the United States and of this state.
(f) To advance no fact prejudicial to the honor or reputation of a party or witness, unless required by the justice of the cause with which he or she is charged.
(g) Not to encourage either the commencement or the continuance of an action or proceeding from any corrupt motive of passion or interest

***

Once I posed the dangers of involving anger in police work to a Sergeant at LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division headquarters.

He answered back with enthusiasm:

“Anger helps us.  I believe it is good for officers.”

I’ve personally been arrested by LAPD twice without evidence or probable cause.  The arrests were made when I stood on the Constitution, asserted my rights…

And they got mad.

***

For both arrests, by the way, I swiftly went to court and proved my factual innocence to a judge, and am still awaiting City of Los Angeles reimbursements for the troubles they caused me, financially and otherwise.

The total personal financial cost of LAPD mistakes to me:

$2500 in bail money.

Twenty total hours lost in actual time in my life; about fifty total hours of affect, as I lost two days due to a sleep-deprived jail stay in one of those illegal arrests.

If one wondered, the criminal code for arresting and detaining a California citizen illegally without probable cause is CPC 236, spelled out above.

But practice and code are two different things, and one would be very hard-pressed to find any filings of charges against police officers in this state for a CPC 236 violation.

Unfortunately, police—including the LAPD, are protected in a biased perversion of another big code: CPC 832.5.

That is the code used and abused by City and District Attorney offices to keep a corrupt cycle of “police investigating police” whirling and swirling.

The wording is key: “complaints by members of the public against” police officers…

Complaints.  Okay, “They were rude.”  “Unprofessional.”  “Made me feel bad.”  “Made me feel scared.”  “Did not say ‘please’ or ‘thank you.”  “The officer was discourteous and ordered me around too much.”

What about Criminal Charges???

“He hurt my shoulder.”  “They had no evidence, got mad, then roughly cuffed me and arrested me.” “They shot and killed my son.”  Those are crimes, if true.  CPC 240 Assault, and CPC 236 Illegal Detainment.  187 murder, degrees of it or manslaughter.

Shouldn’t a differentiation be made between “complaints” and “criminal charges?”

Shouldn’t an independent investigator without ties to police officers investigate all criminal complaints against police?

If there is a professional standards issue, by all means—832.5 plays, and the Internal Affairs process can have their way, decide if officers did wrong.

But with criminal charges:

We need to budget and acquire a way to independently investigate a police officer—like any other citizen—of culpability in that crime.

Nixon was not above the law.  Trump is not above the law.  Neither should cops be above the law, and neither should city and district attorneys claim them as “clients” to create even more bias in the process.

The Attorney’s Oath must be followed.

Helicopter Patrols Violate Fourth Amendment

4th Amendment Flight

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

***

If the noise isn’t bad enough to cause a change to be made, could Constitutional Law?

Helicopters, low-flying planes of any type: have no constitutional right to be low and loud above our homes.

What would Adams or Jefferson say about the noise?  About the invasion of privacy caused by the search by loud aerial patrols of our communities?

Someone war-minded would argue that helicopters are issued at the request of officers on the ground, a process meant to resemble “probable cause” for a search.

Where is the Civilian Oversight of this process?  Judicial oversight?

Officers will back their own, as will the pro-flight FAA, said to “monitor itself.”  FAA does about as well as the Alcohol Industry at monitoring itself.

As Big Alcohol thinks it’s okay to advertise their dangerous products to a percentage of child viewers, Big Aviation pushes a narrow view of Safety Oversight, that ignores noise.

And all of us seem to be ignoring the Constitution.  Our Privacy.  The Environment.  Peace and securing it above even the competitive “need” to “catch bad guys.”

I rarely hear criminals or suspects.  I hear helicopters.  Sirens.

Police are the real criminals here.

Joy, Love, Peace

In the Beginning

Before the dark light of beer
tempted the better part of good cheer
there was a life,
A promise of life, and only
the sweet smile of love.

We let fruit from agave to
barley, yeast and hops, grapes
of God’s vine

SPOIL.

Then we “reap” the poison,
inject alcohol into our lives,
some of us as little children at the
bar-b-que.

There we also learn to set off
illegal fireworks, we try to
close ourselves off and have
our own rules…

We failed to see that real rules
called law were made for us,
for our protection and benefit—

If they do anything else, follow me
to City Hall, and let’s CHANGE
not break them.

Joy, Love, Peace

Up away, high in the sky
they fly—law dragons protecting
the way we think and do,
Hoping we do not die.

Pete is one, has three heads and
breathes fire; Gretel is the other,
female, orange, fiery herself,
but while Pete in blue swoops in

Gretel thinks, the two a team
against wrongdoing, illuminating
law so children know how to live
a long time—

Pete likes to rhyme!! Gretel too,
and this was what they hoped
to say to you:

“Obey the law, children, wear your
helmet when you ride. Hitting, pushing,
poking, stabbing and shooting will
not go, and’ll get you put in jail!!

“In jail you dream alone, with so
little space to roam. I think you’d
rather be at home. So wear that helmet
if you ride a bike, scooter, roller blade
or anything with wheels on streets
or sidewalks.

“Never write on walls or desks or things
that do not belong to you. Do not
paint on things that aren’t yours.
Never steal. Taking something that is
not yours will take from your soul;
what’s worse it leads to jail, we already
said. You’ll wish you were dead!!

“And that’s why we’re here, to push and
remind you not to die, not to live selfishly.
Do not hurt others, and if someone hurts
you: We are sorry about that, but
DO NOT hurt back. Report the incident,
stay safe from harm, let the police or teachers
or parents help, be patient, and someone will
come who cares like us!!

“Last, children, as we are flying around
up here, could you do two more things
for us? Read the law as you learn to read,
teach your parents if they don’t know them
all, like the one about fireworks—some
communities allow them, some don’t, which is
yours? Obey!! Those adult drinks
with alcohol in them? Do not touch them!!!
Smoking? Inhaling smoke into your lungs?
Firemen and women must risk this danger
to save our lives, but you and I? NO!!!

“Finally, kids, have fun—one day at a time!!
Stay in touch with us and law, and you’ll
be sure to stay in line.

“Give as much as you can within the rules,
and say ‘NO’ to committing crimes even
with friends you think are cool. Walk
away… And if some day you think there is
a bad law—DON’T BREAK IT,

“CHANGE IT!! Become a part of this
country, give your song a voice, tell
people how you feel. Law protects
our rights to love, joy and peace, so
wait your turn, raise your hand and be
counted.

“You’ll be happy if you do, like us
dragons, free to be anything we want
to be… except….”

Except when your freedom
hurts others. Obey the law, kids!!
Thanks!!!
