A Power Greater Than Evil

Higher Power2

We run and we run.  A virus drops or a guy goes wild on the world stage with big explosions, and it’s tempting just to run, run, run.

What’s a virus next to balanced, thriving, healthy days of life?  What’s the virus against a well-oiled immune system, eating good foods, working, playing and loving in a vibrant proactive fashion?

What are Vladimir Putin’s bombs and aggression next to a mother’s love?

***

Let’s stop running and square up our problems like men and women.  If someone bombed my hometown I wouldn’t refugee away from the bombing, but march to the source and have a talk with some people.  Unarmed, Christian, loving, direct talk.

Of course evil exists.  It always has and always will.

What’s your response to it?  Run?

I say, let’s live toward our problems, not away from them.  Live with the Power that ignites us all!  Live toward our enemies and love them back to sanity!  Live so well that our blood will pump into every extremity with a beating heart that will never stop for a measly virus!!!

There is a Power greater than evil, so align with it.  Never cower to the bully!  Love him.

Never cower from a virus.  Love today!

Deciding to Succeed

Mother Teresa1

Enduring pain is the key,
Welcoming it as the rain
before the ‘bow,

This is life, a one day,
one time venture between
wake and sleep,

The god of our understanding
helping us when asked,
making a choice.

Decisions are a bigger thing,
Declaring victory for one thing
over another,

Deciding to win means we
make the call to put our
best effort out—

I have been inspired by
those Marines, standing tall
so stand up too.

I have been inspired by
Mother Teresa giving her
will to God—

So give mine to God too,
my days are free when I
am out of the way;

I think no longer of what
I can get, but of what I can
with care give.

Selflessness taught by
Saint Francis, generosity of
the Jesuit Ignatius,

Songs from Natasha, three
words in the chorus of Spring,
I love you,

I love you, I love you.
We can joke and will as humans
surely stray.

But if we want to succeed in
the John Wooden way for
Peace of mind—

We will write down our goals,
our dreams, check them against
gods and feasibility,

Then with courage and care
do them, if possible, through
the pain today.

The Power of Lo—Sex

Jesus.

That’s the word certain nerds
use to calm down, back up, and
think, they do it with tone, sometimes

represented in writing with italics.

Thank God for spit, it keeps coming,
the male sex instinct is X, the women’s
is Y, why we’re off sometimes because
X is cross and Y is open and vice versa,

then one day the bomb explodes!

You cannot control Sex.

I imagine the eunuch tries, but
sperms game to swim swim a wild
ride!

God, or Life, or Nature—or whatever
power you observe as King—made the
thing go and go and go without relenting!

Sex is like the universe itself, kind of
unknown, stark one moment, pounding
the next, black holes explored the
crevasse of stink, the stank thing you
thought by holding back, comes back like
an avalanche a day later, or in the

middle of the night, holding tight, you

cannot stop the flood, the bursting
of the dyke.

***

Few!  Few are those who can manage
the power, the pulse, the growth,
the manufacturing of eggs and life
forever spinning like the planets
around far off suns, mirroring ours
in a game of loss and won.

Truth is as truth does, and so at
break of day—play!

Then we head with conviction, we
hope to a setting arc, words and
images, sounds and sweat abound

until it stops.

If we were true to our five senses
we get a sixth, peace of mind
finding us at the end of long, well-
lived, singing rhyme.

Doesn’t mean we can make our
bodies stop, they keep going and
going, the energizer god of sex
not a bunny per se, but then again

they boink a lot, or so they always
say.

Accepting my Balls

As I see and feel balls sagging
from right to left, left to right,
I like to think someone’s been
swinging them.

But swinging them doesn’t bend
them down to stay.   Nature does
that.  Time, age: you wake up, and
your rocks dropped.

***

This can be a sad event, and was
for me, especially when I felt
nothing much happened in my
youth, no great wear and tear

that would leave an item or thing
stretched out or overused,
necessitating the sag, precipitating
a change, a drop, the swing—

Sad!!

I turned thirty years old, and
they dropped.

It was not at the brink of death,
closing in on very old age but
thirty years in, thirty times around
the sun, and they sagged!!!

I wrote several books, a screenplay,
thought of all different ways not
to think of my sagging rocks;

wrote about kids, a Kids World,
figured I was done so give the world
over to the tight-balled and perky
youths, think of myself less and less,
that’s it the ticket is to be more and
more Selfless!

***

That didn’t work, and I stayed depressed,
did the twelve steps on the problem
at last, and it went away for a time, the
depression about sagging—but then it
came back with a vengeance!

***

Then one day, it went away.  I accept
my sagging balls because they’re here
to stay.

What’s more, I’m powerless over them,
my age, and this rock spinning through space,
giving me cool ideas to write as long as
I walk on her and thank.

The best way out of a good depression
is to do nothing, wait for it to pass,
accept all things and Thank.
